{Month and Season} The month is March, the season is spring. The weather outside is warming up day by day. Though nights are still a bit chilly, the days are warm and sunny. The time for pups to be born is now or nearing. Deer gather and give birth, new fawns are easy prey. Myci is now dead, and the cougars are on their way. For now, everything is at peace.(It is also time to change skins to Dawn of Spring.)

Before the Plunge

A lone wolf snaked between the palm trees on the pure white beach of Diamond isle, his bedraggled coat peppered with the sand crystals. His paws sank into the sand with every step, which caused him to curse repeatedly, so his progress was so, but he soon made it to a grassy patch beside a large boulder. It was nice to be on an island where the spirit of other wolves could not interfere with his thoughts. That was the downside of everything he had... of having the advantage of the restless spirit Aniiyu. The very life of another wolf would cause the powers of his spirit guardian to become distant and distorted.

"Fool! Only the unwise walk alone in dark times as there! Can you not feel the evil on the wind?" Nhntng screeched this message to his canine companion, circling above the calico patterned wolf.

"And I had thought a ruddy bird who could 'sense evil' or whatever would actually be of use! Unlike you!" Miko shouted back, his voice arrogant and stern. "I have said it many times, and I will say it again: What did Avarian see in a duck like you? You don't spy, you don't lie to wolves who we don't trust, and you're missing a toe on your left foot!" As Nhntng took to grumbling in the air wher Miko couldn't hear him, the wolf resigned to thinking. Thought was an important stage in his plan, and it was also quite fun. "But when to let them know? Should I separate my dear blood sister and tell her before telling them? Do I kill Kaiwii to get her out of the way and then try to get to Star and attempt to kill her as well?"

Suddenly his eyes glazed over and he stopped, but soon a grin came to his mug. After several moments of this, his orbs became clear and he looked up. "Thank you dear, Aniiyu. Would a lovely mind you have. Too bad Jevic didn't see much in you, eh?" He snickered before straightening his face. "But you mentioned Hunter and his brother? They were always meddling twits weren't they? And Surkan? I don't quite know who you're talking about, but I'll take your word on it when you say that she isn't a problem. They'll see what's coming. They are expecting the cougars, and the cougars will come. But they'll never know I'm there, and we're on the winning side, aren't we?"

As his words died, a white form appeared by the treeline, the form of a femora. Her dial was held regally high, and her hackles were raised. "You always assumed too much. Can you know feel the vibes of greater work here? You are not facing just fang and claw now. The powers of the elements was once rare in wolves and sacred, but it is widely used now. The islands reek of it, and I am surprised you haven't noticed. I don't know who these cougars are, or what they're up to for that matter, but they can be a threat to you as well as the wolf pack. Expect the highly unexpected."

Miko laughed. "The only thing I highly don't expect is the thing that will never happen. It happens to include a god and a wolf, but you know about that. You were there with me."

The white wolf, actually a fake body of a wolf conjured by a certain spirit, nodded curtly. "I will say it one more time: You assume too much." With that said, her form faded away into nothing, leaving Miko sitting utterly bored near the ocean.

"There is tension. I cannot tell where though." Nhntng shook his brownish tawny head and looked down to Miko, who as laying down, appearing to be quite annoyed.

"Great, then let's go. It's too quite for me to concentrate anyway. Especially when Aniiyu is not listening to me. Did you tell her to start ignoring me? This is important!" The wolf stood and began to circle the tree that his bird companion occupied.

"Tension may mean ill for you and the cougars. Maybe they are in trouble?"

"I doubt it. I guess we can wait... but not for long. I can't miss the time by just sitting here."

Miko had left the island, and searched for Star, but she hadn't been present. He had been stopped by the cougar called Kalla, and told that he had to regroup with Myci and the other evil ones. Well, he thought another quick trip to Diamond Isle wouldn't hurt. It would clear his mind. "None of the wolves know I exist save for Kaiwii, so we are doing well on this," he said to himself, since he had lost Nhntng when he ventured after Kalla and then broke away from her. "They think they can go against the darkness again? Always the light ones are so foolish. they will see that evil never dies, it only suffers. But suffering causes understanding, and wisdom leads to freedom and victory. They will see that soon. Let them try, and defeat will find them."

"Thirteen days until the full moon! That's when my power will be complete again... By the light pure silver, with the breeze that shall ruffle my fur as it has not for two full years, and-"

"Alright, I get it! And you always say I talk too much," Mao snorted angrily. He did not make eye contact with the white femora, but instead turned his mug to the sky like an arrogant puppy. "But what are you going to do? You haven't been speaking to me for days, and I think I should know of what you're plotting. You can't do anything without me until the full moon. Until then, you're nothing more then a memory, a mere spirit that could easily be destroyed with the simplest of tasks."

Aniiyu growled. "If it's so easy, why is it that you haven't been able to banish me? You can't and never will be able to. I swear that the moment I become strong enough, I will be rid of you before anyone else! Then I will kill Star, like you obviously failed to do. Why didn't you kill her!?"

"Tell me what you're putting together and I'll tell you everything. I'll tell you what the pack is planning, where they are going, the select weaknesses that I know of... I know much more then you think I do because of what Kaiwii's seen. Everything she sees, I will see whenever I speak telepathically to her. Even Nhntng has more knowledge then you! Face it, if you don't get this information, you'll fade away."

The spirit paced back and forth, her solid form becoming temporarily transparent. "Fine. Tell me. Miko, who are they and which ones will be the easiest to pick off first?"

Nhntng was perched in the tree he had always perched on, and he moaned softly. 'Don't tell her, Mao... You're an ally to the pack, not their enemy... Don't allow Aniiyu to fool you any more... If you tell her, then you've betrayed everything that you've just gained,' the bird thought sadly to himself.

"Idiot, I know that's a lie! Wolfbane is here, I've seen Fell! I told you not to assume anything, and since that was the one thing you expected to never happen, you are in the dark. There are many secrets being held, and this is a threat." Aniiyu continued to pace, her bright crimson eyes, she chose red because she thought it resembled something evil, flashing angrily as Mao continued to speak. "Miko, you're hiding something. I know you are. Don't make me enter your thoughts again, you remember what happened last time?"

Mao shuddered. "I hide nothing important. But- Wait a moment... Kaiwii?" Mao saw his sister crawling onto the beach, and he quickly ran to her. "Sister what are you doing here?" he hissed. "Aniiyu is here."

The white wolfess came to Mao's side. "She's here to ask you about fire. About the flames she has sparked and the dance of fire she can control. Can you hear her open thoughts? She seems to freely give them away since she thinks them so hardly," Aniiyu chuckled.

"I'll help you. You can help us against the pack. I know little about elementals, but Aniiyu will be here as well, and she's seen quite a bit." Mao winked shortly and nodded. "But we had better hurry since we only have a couple weeks left..."

Mao watched as Aniiyu muttered to herself under his favorite tree, and he took this chance to talk to Kaiwii. ""I can see the meeting through Nhntng, but I won't be able to tell you everything that goes on. We've taught you what we could in the past day, and that's going to have to do. I can't go since she'll come as well, so good luck. And if you get the chance... Tell Star and Hunter I'm sorry."

Kaiwii whimpered softly. "I don't want to leave you here alone. What if Aniiyu does something to you?"

"She won't. She needs me since she thinks I'll take her to Fell. I don't think I'll see him until this is all over though, so her plans are foiled there. But when the full moon comes 'bout... I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Aniiyu might become whole, and then no one would know it. Only Fell evens knows about her, and he's only seen her once. She's nothing compared to Myci at the moment though, so concentrate on stopped her now. Worry about Aniiyu only if you have to."

"I won't have to anyway. We'll all stop Myci and then I'll meet up with you and the two of us will get rid of Aniiyu. Together." Kaiwii nodded stubbornly and stood. "See you soon, Brother. I'm going to have to hurry if I'm going to make the meeting." The she wolf loped toward Aniiyu, fibbed about saying that she was going to find game on grounds she knew, and then leaped into the ocean.

Mao nodded to himself as Kaiwii swam further away. "Good bye, Sister. See you on the full moon."
